Player Profiles

The Player Profiles should be done by the end of the week. I am starting with the seniors and working my way down.

6'2 170 lb Senior Guard #32 Jim Klingshirn

When talking about Jim Klingshirn, you can pretty much sum him up in one word -- "clutch". If you ever need a basket late in the game, you get Jim the ball. Jim is one of those players who isn't outstanding in any one area, but is solid overall. He can do a little of everything. Jim's strong point is probably his defense. Jim can keep up with just about anyone in the league and shut them down. His tenacious pressure he applies on opponents is demorilizing to their play. He also has that extra sense where he visualizes things happening before they actually do. To go along with his solid gameplay, Jim is a locker room and a floor leader.

6'3 185 lb Senior Power Forward #23 Adam Wenning

Adam came into this season with a job to do and he did it. After minimal playing time last season, he was determined to come in and take over. That is exactly what he did. Adam has turned his game completely around and has taken huge strides from last year. Adam has taken a lot of the load of Matt's shoulders and capitalized on teams emphasis on him. He has dominated the offensive glass in every game thus far and will most likely keep that going. He is currently 7th in the area in scoring and is near the top in rebounds. Although a bit undersized, he plays like he is 6'6 and many times beats players 4-5 inches taller than him. Adam is another guy who is a tremendous leader on the floor and in the locker room.

6'2 180 lb Junior Guard #34 Mike Gabel

If you have ever seen Mike Gabel play basketball out at the park, you know he can ball. Mike decided he was going to try to carry that over to the hardwood last year and showed some signs of excellence. He is one of those kids who can be as good as they want. He has a great jumpshot and can handle the ball pretty well. His defense can be absolutely stunning at times. Mike also has the extra step on most of his opponents. This gives him the extra edge. With continued work and concentration, Mike could have a big impact for the team come tournament time. He should continue to give Coach Vogt that all important depth on the bench.
